The purpose of this course is to provide students with a basic knowledge of major courses in the department of optometry. Students will learn broad outlines of light, lenses, eyes, and more. By gaining basic knowledge, students will be able to understand major courses related to optics such as physical optics, geometric optics, and ocular optics.

This course concentrates on establishing a step-wise plan for the future each individual, and providing various information related to majors. Students will learn the basic principles of light properties and wave phenomena, such as dispersion, interference, diffraction, and polarization, and also learn how to confirm and apply them through experiments. The purpose of this course is to learn the structure, principles and usage of optometry instruments. Students intensively learn how to use phoropter, retinoscope, keratometer, and lens meter etc. It is expected to enable student to perform rapid and accurate testing at the optometric clinic.

The purpose of this course is to learn the principles of refraction, reflection and imaging of light. Students will learn the laws of reflection and refraction of light, and imaging and ray tracing in mirrors, prisms, thin lenses, and so on. Students can understand the principles of correction of refractive errors, including characteristics of light and optical phenomena.

The main focus of the course is placed on fundamental knowledge for materials, types, and characteristics of spectacle frames and ophthalmic lenses. Students will learn the definitions of optic schematic eye and human eyes as an optical system, the definitions of refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, and the principles of eye examination and refractive correction. Students can develop their applicability to eye examinations and analytical prescriptions.

The purpose of this course is to learn the basics for accurate optometric dispensing of eyeglasses. Students will learn the basic knowledge and theory of the technique of glazing lens and inserting it into the eye frame, and practice lens glazing using the spherical lenses. Students can master the use of optometric dispensing equipment and the ability of lens dispensing.

This course aims to provide the theoretical and practical basic aspect of contact lens including materials, design, lens fitting, and care system. The course deals with fitting principles and assessment of lens fit including soft contact lenses, and lens care. Students will be able to determine a right contact lens for a right wearer, and to undertake lens fitting and care.

Students will learn the prism lens and prism diopter, the accommodation of eye, correction of presbyopia, and the variations of spectacle magnification and visual field. Students can develop their applicability to prism and dynamic refraction.

Students will learn expertise in interpreting optometric prescriptions, laying out glasses, optometric dispensing, and fitting. Students will develop their skills to make accurate glasses for PD and Oh of wearer, and comfortable glasses to wear.

Based on theories of interpreting optometric prescriptions, glasses lay out, optometric dispensing, and fittings, students will practise how to make glasses for myopia and hyperopia using spherical lenses. Students can learn the skills of making comfortable and accurate glasses through repetitive exercises.

The purpose of this course is to develop English speaking skills related to optometric clinic in order to develop internationalized optometric performance. Students learn all the procedures of history taking, preliminary test, refraction test and the eye functional test in English. It is expected to train high-quality optometric practitioner with clinical proficiency and foreign language ability.

이 과정은 콘택트렌즈 및 실습 1 과정의 연속으로 콘택트렌즈 분야를 더 소개하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 본 관정은 RGP렌즈, 노안 교정렌즈, 토릭 RGP렌즈 및 각막굴절교정렌즈를 포함한 피팅 원리 및 렌즈 피팅평가를 다룬다. 학생들은 올바른 착용자에게 적합한 콘택트렌즈를 결정하고 특수렌즈에 관한 피팅과 렌즈 관리를 수행할 수 있을 것이다.

This course is a continuation for a former course in Contact Lens and Practice 1. In this course it is aimed to further introduce the students to the field of contact lenses. The course deals with fitting principles and assessment of lens fit including RGP lens, lens for presbyopia lens, toric RGP lens, and orthokeratology lens. Students will be able to determine a right contact lens for a right wearer, and to undertake special lens fitting and care.

The class is focused on characteristics for brands of each eyewear distributed in the current market. From this class, students will have the ability to select eyewear and consult with consumers for protecting eye.

This course is focused on understanding optometry related to pediatric and geriatric, amblyopia, and low vision. Students will be able to experience eye examination, case analysis, and management of special cases.

Discuss effective methods of vision training for the eye deviation, accommodative dysfunction, and vergence dysfunction and conduct vision training project by group. Students analyze and share the training effects to have practical ability to utilize vision training at the optometric clinic.

Students will practice making eyeglasses using various prescriptions and frames based on their knowledge and skills acquired through 'Practice of lens glazing' and 'Ophthalmic dispensing practice' courses. Students can increase their ability to make eyeglasses skillfully in the practical field.

The aim of this class is to obey legal and ethical considerations as an optometric practitioner. The course deals with medical law, health and medical related law, and public health law. Optometric practitioner related to visual function care will be able to know the legal obligations for optometric practice.
