바이오기능성소재학과는 자연계에 존재하는 한방 및 유용식물자원으로부터 약리활성물질, 건강기능성 물질, 생체반응조절물질, 색소, 향료 등 천연 기능성 신소재의 개발 및 이들을 활용한 전통 한방의학에 관한 이론과 기술 연마를 목적으로 한 첨단 응용 생명과학을 공부합니다.

산업적 특수성을 배경으로 이론을 겸비한 충분한 실험·실습 및 현장교육을 수행하여 한방자원의 수집, 분류, 평가, 약리활성검정 및 산업적 이용방안에 관해 연구하고, 한방의 실용분야를 익혀 국민 보건향상에 기여하는 21세기 한방의학의 국제화를 선도할 전문 인력을 양성합니다.

Department of Bio-Functional Material

This department aims to nurture experts in oriental and herbal medicinal pharmacology. The courses in this department include development of new herbal medicine resources (such as pharmacological active substances, health functional materials, biological response modifier, pigments, natural spices, and functional materials) production and maintenance of herbal medicine, isolation of biological active compounds, and quality maintenance of herbal medicine.

The mission of this department is to nurture the qualified pharmacologist through theoretical and practical training in harmony of traditional oriental herbal medicine resources, oriental health treatment with western physiology. This department has generated the global leaders in the oriental herbal bio-industry through the scientific and theoretical education and site-training about the methods of collection, classification, assessment of pharmacological activity and appication to industrial use in herbal medicine resources.

졸업 후 진로

건강기능성식품회사, 한방병원, 한방연구소, 한방관련 의료분야, 정부기관, 제약회사, 화장품회사, 한방약제가공회사, 한약자원의 재배육종, 연구개발분야, 한약재의 건재, 유통분야인 도매업 등의 분야로 진출하고 있다.
