이 과목에서는 현대 사회인이 흔히 겪게 되는 다양한 사회적 위험을 이해하고 이를 해결하기 위한 사회복지정책과 다양한 사회보장제도를 탐구한다. 빈곤을 예방하고 해결하기 위한 공공부조 및 실업, 질병, 노후, 사망 등을 해결하기 위한 5대 사회보험제도를 학습함으로써 살아갈 인생에서 겪게 될 다양한 사회적 위험으로부터 국가 복지제도를 통해 이를 해결할 지식과 경험을 학습하게 된다. 또한 이를 통해 사회복지를 통해 구현하고자 하는 복지국가에 대해 학습한다.

This subject is an introduction to the modern society’s problem and social welfare policy and various social securities. It explores current social problems and social welfare issues in the context of their history and the underlying social welfare values, emphasis is placed on major fields of social welfare such as; social security, public assistance, mental health, child welfare, welfare for the elderly, correction welfare, and it study social justice, social change, social science theory, and social welfare relevant prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation programs and services.

Students will explore the concepts, values, and development of social welfare, as well as learn about its diverse practice areas and policy frameworks. Furthermore, through training in writing and speaking, which are tools for expressing thoughts, students will improve their writing skills based on social welfare knowledge and skills. As a foundational knowledge for social welfare practice, students will gain an understanding of human development, psychological theories for understanding human behavior, and social-environmental systems theories. Specifically, they will examine knowledge regarding the interactions between the various elements that constitute human behavior and the social environment within three dimensions: psychological and social-environmental systems theories, the interactions among these elements, and the stages and tasks of human development. This will allow them to systematically understand and apply the connections between these theories and social welfare practice.

Human history has been a constant struggle to ensure survival from social risks, and social welfare is the practice and policy that addresses these risks and promotes a higher quality of life. This course focuses on the historical experiences of preceding welfare states, which are considered to have triggered major turning points. Students will gain an understanding of the evolution of social welfare. They will also understand the background that led to the enactment of the Poor Law and social insurance, as well as the emergence of the welfare state, and develop critical thinking skills to address their limitations. Through this, they will develop the capacity to foresee the future of global and Korean social welfare amidst a period of rapid social change.

This course examines the fundamental concepts and historical background necessary for professional social work practice, enabling students to understand the ideology, philosophy, and fundamental theories of social work practice. Furthermore, students gain an understanding of diverse social work practice settings, as well as the roles, fundamental values, and ethics of social workers working in the field. By systematically studying relationship building, interviewing, and the practice process for social work practice, students will understand and utilize the knowledge and skills necessary for social work practice.

They will learn about the formation and development of the welfare state and the unique characteristics of Korea's welfare state. They will also learn how to analyze social welfare policies and systems from both theoretical and practical perspectives, exploring policy decision-making processes, implementation processes, policy costs, and policy outcomes. They will also develop critical thinking skills to discuss the problems and solutions of Korea's social welfare policies.

This course covers the characteristics of child welfare, the role of parents, concepts and values, the history of child welfare, children's needs and problems, policies and systems, practice targets and related services, and practice methods and techniques. Through this, students will develop an understanding of the development of childhood and children's rights and the ability to anticipate future child welfare practice and policies. Furthermore, it will cultivate the ability to apply child welfare practice knowledge, attitudes, and techniques to diverse child welfare issues, such as poverty, abuse, and adoption.

Students will learn that women's issues, like other social issues, are closely interconnected with social structure, historical background, and culture, and develop a gender-sensitive perspective. Through audiovisual materials, they can experience and empathize with the discrimination women face across different life stages and situations. They will also explore and discuss solutions to emerging women's issues, social welfare practices, and policy approaches.

The purpose is to convey basic knowledge of mental pathology and to understand various approaches to treating mental pathology. In particular, the classification of mental disorders, the issue of groups, is understood and the comprehensive provision of psychological and social services for the mentally disabled to adapt and rehabilitate in the community is reviewed.

This course provides students with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary for social workers in the field of disability welfare. To understand disability, students will learn about the concept of disability, the ideology/values ？？of disability welfare, and its history. They will also explore the characteristics and needs of each disability type through a variety of resources. Furthermore, they will gain an overview of social welfare practices and policies targeting people with disabilities and discuss recent issues and prospects related to disability welfare.

It also explores the professional values, theories, models, and practical techniques of school social work. Through this course, students can develop a school social work practice process that addresses various issues within schools, such as school violence, mental health, and dropouts. Furthermore, students can cultivate the professional capabilities of school social workers who can protect students' human rights and improve their well-being.

탈시설화로 인한 지역사회보호의 중요성이 부각되고 급속한 사회환경의 변화에 따라 복합적인 욕구를 가진 대상이 증가함에 따라 사례관리는 중요한 사회복지 실천 방법으로서 활용되고 있다. 본 교과목을 통해 사례관리의 개념과 사례관리가 출현하게 된 발달 배경을 이해하여 사례관리자의 역할을 충실히 이행할 수 있게 된다. 또한 실제 사례에 접수-사정-개입계획-조정과 점검-종결과 평가 단계를 적용하는 연습을 통해 사례관리 역량을 함양할 수 있다.

As the importance of community protection increases due to deinstitutionalization and the rapid changes in the social environment lead to an increase in the number of people with complex needs, case management is increasingly being utilized as a vital social welfare practice. This course will help students understand the concept of case management and the developmental background that led to its emergence, enabling them to faithfully fulfill their role as a case manager. Furthermore, students will develop case management competencies through practice in applying the stages of reception, assessment, intervention planning, coordination and monitoring, and closure and evaluation to real-life cases.

They will learn about the nature and origins of welfare states, the history of development of welfare states, theories on development of welfare states, discussion of the typeization of welfare states, and measures related to the crisis and response of welfare states. It will also take a detailed look at the welfare system expansion process and characteristics of major advanced welfare countries and develop an eye for analyzing the nature of Korea's welfare state.
